Well, If You Say So...

"Jesus, Martha. What are you even doing here? You should be at home doing bong rips!"
--- My boss, upon hearing the full story of my medical saga. I went to work yesterday to get revise memos back to a couple of my features writers.

hahahaha!

Well it makes sense... :p

hahahaha. It's totally in keeping with his personality, too.

What's a bong rip and do I want to read the answer to that question at work?

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bong+rip

(basically, using a modified water pipe to smoke a lot of marijuana all at once. AKA as a "bong hit.")

Dude, you can totally claim it was for medical use!

I hope he appreciates what an awesome employee you are. In your place, work would barely be on my radar AT ALL until everything else was cleared up. Of course, I loathe my job, so admittedly I'm biased. But still!

If I lose any more IQ points to the drugs I am on, and will be on after the surgery, I am quite sure I will be soiling myself and barking at pigeons. I so do not need the pot stupid on top of that. Ha.

barking at pigeons

ROTFLMAO!

Seriously, I needed a good laugh, and that image so did it for me.

*wipes tears of laughter from eyes*

is it possible to get you drunk enough to soil yourself and bark at pigeons? if so, I'm coming to visit strapped with jello shots and a video camera.

I fully endorse his sentiments.

Typical lazy Eurocommie. :p
(I am not staying very late today -- no sleep last night and I'm feeling pretty awful.)

[identity profile] alanashinean.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Its not the worst idea I've ever heard.

[identity profile] xraytheenforcer.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha. Indeed. If I were a different person (who didn't have asthma), I might take him up on it.

Well, you may be being attacked by aliens but at least you have a great boss!

[identity profile] xraytheenforcer.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
He has his moments, that is for sure. :)

[identity profile] isis-newton.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool. I wish my boss would say that to me.

[identity profile] xraytheenforcer.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I can send you some innoculation sample after surgery...

[identity profile] rudbekia.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, I so would not have gone to work. Wouldn't have done bong rips, but sure wouldn't have gone to work.

[identity profile] fenryng.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the idea of being at home instead of at work for any given day usually works for me, I know.

Nice to know that your boss has his priorities straight. Mostly. :-)
