I found this surprising image during my daily photo slog.

According to wiki (all caveats in place), they can run 20-25mph. Other sites quote anything from 20-30mph. Surprisingly fast for something with such stumpy legs.

Unrelated, kinda, but still funny.

I was just (like 5 minutes ago) in the cell phone store where they also sell sat tv services. They have two HUGE flat screen HD TVs on the wall for folks to watch while waiting on activation of services etc. Well, there I was minding my own business while hubby talks to the Cell Phone guy and there is HIPPO PORN* on the TVs... BOTH TVs! LOL. There was a little old lady in the sitting area watching intently. *giggle* Hubby had his back to the tvs so he didn't get to see it, but I thought I was gonna bust trying not to laugh.

*OK, It was probably on NatGeo or Discovery. But there was definitely Hippo Love goin on.

Hippos are awesome spectacles of Miocene, bone snapping, megafaunal rage!!!
