WTF, Is It The Emopocalypse?
Nov. 20th, 2008 12:47 pmEvery song I listen to today provokes a wildly different, sometimes inexplicable or inappropriate, emotion. Despair, Triumph, Yearning, Doubt, Lust for Vengeance, Lust for Freedom, plain ol' Lust. From songs that really shouldn't be provoking any of these reactions. The hell?
Only recourse is to listen to a band that basically encapsulates it all. Afghan Whigs (may they RIP) were one of the most criminally overlooked bands in the 90s because people were too goddamned busy listening to Nirvana and Pearl Jam and all the dreck that those two bands inspired. Anyway, for some reason this song means "elation" today. I need some positivity.
