Your MP3 Player Does Not Lie
Mar. 5th, 2008 05:06 pmSo I was trying to come up with a list of my favorite 10 hip hop songs, and I went to my mp3 player to get some ideas. Instead, I made the following discoveries:
I have a 16GB player, of which 12GB have been used to store music. Eleven of those 12 GB are some variety of metal. Doom, thrash, POWER (lots and lots of this), black, symphonic, finnish, troll-enthusiast, finnish troll-enthusiast, heavy, melodic, prog, art, speed, and death. I got songs about orcs and the killing thereof, Silmarils, space pirates (Barbary space pirates at that, motherfuckers), Norse gods, doomsday clocks, deadly sinners, genetic manipulation, baying hounds, calculations of the apocalypse, and troll hammers.
The final 1GB is spread amongst a healthy cross section of the rest of my musical tastes, including the aforementioned hip hop (Immortal Technique, Cannibal Ox) and the various punk, goth, new wave, blahblahblah bands that I, apparently, cannot live without.
I will have to wait until I get home and with the Master Collection, though, to craft that list.
