John Ringo is a US military and military SF writer who wrote a series called 'Paladin's Shadow' (or something) about a butch manly man who is an ex-Navy SEAL, ex-CIA hitman or something who kills lots of bad guys and rescues lots of promiscuous bisexual women from danger, who are duly grateful. I think in one book he kills Osama bin Laden and wipes out Al Qaeda single-handed.

In his favour he claims to deliberately be writing patriotic right-wing "USA! USA!" BS for comic effect, but I'm not too sure...

OH JOHN RINGO NO! is the catchphrase to be used whenever he does anything truly heinous in his books, which is quite often.
