It's -10.5C (13F) outside. I have no desire to leave the confines of my home.

2C outside and very windy. Feeling very rough today with a very bad headache (which tablets are holding off a bit) and early cold/flu symptoms, which I'm definitely hoping won't develop any further.

That's cold.

Also, it's cold here (not that cold), but no snow. The weather people lied to me...

That's not fair! I hate it when they predict snow, and then you get naught but grey skies and the dreams of a beautiful snowscape.

Think there is some snow oop north. But as they were only forecast to get ~5cm up there, I reckon we'll get about 5mm, if that. Booo!

Yeah, Boston is getting a kicking this year. The only thing worse than walking to a cold subway station is having to warm up a frozen-ass car.

It was -5 F when I left my house at 5 this morning. When i walked out the door I came very close to turning right around and calling in "sick".

I have no idea what temperature it was when Doug left for work this AM. Not -5F, but cold enough. I could never survive in the Midwest.

Yeah, what he said. It got up to 1F on my drive into work about an hour later.

Get this - it's supposed to be 45F this weekend!!!

Does the sun ever shine in Ireland?

Yeah, but if it shines in winter, it's gonna be cold.

13 degrees F would be a major heat wave here! It's currently a measly 1F, with a wind chill factor that makes it feel like -14F.

Winter is coming, my ass. Winter is HERE, damn it!

Come on, they did say 'snow flurries' or something equally twee.

I want snow too though. It might as well snow if it's going to be this cold, I always say.

What I hate is when it is freezing and then it decides to rain. If it was snowing, no problem, but actual ice-cold liquid water? How is that fair?

What would you call half a flurry? Dublin had one of those this afternoon - snow was falling to within inches of the ground, but then the flakes didn't just melt, they apparently evaporated -- there was no trace on cars or on the ground. Mind you, I'm still surprised the driving didn't come to a screeching halt.

I can deal with the cold, despite the fact that it sucks.

What I hate is the snow, because other than the very rare snowball off of someone's head, I do no winter sports, so it is totally useless to me.

I am trying depaerately to move up near where you live JUST because I want to live where it snows. Move to Austin. There is no snow :(
