This is when I know that All Is Right With The World: the farmers market has its full complement of stalls selling yummy produce. Things are still a bit thin on the ground -- it's too early for most produce. But the market was a riot of flowers, and some early crops were represented. Like ramps. RAMPS, people! Of course I bought a bunch. Also, lilac is in bloom, so I bought a huge bouquet, which is now perfuming the air in the living room.

The list:
herb pork sausage (still doing the only-meat-from-the-farmers-market experiment)
smoked ham slice (for use in beans)
ramps
asparagus
mixed salad greens
scallions
lilac
chocolate milk (local dairy sells milk in glass bottles -- gods, I love that they use reusable containers and not plastic)

I adore ramps, if only for the Rapunzel aspect.
Which Farmer's Market?
I am generally partial to Park Slope's but I can also get into the one in Williamsburg and used to go to the one in Brooklyn Heights twice a week.

"Riot of flowers"

Hee! I love that phrase. It sounds like a metal band.

And chocolate milk in glass bottles! Decadent.

Ramps are indeed a treat.

We go to the Park Slope/Grand Army Plaza market. :)
