Yeah. Mags are much different -- and what it comes down to is "hey, you talked to us once already. This story is going in whether you cooperate or not. Now, do you want it factually correct, or do you want to look like an ass for all eternity?" (that was the tack I typically used with recalcitrant sources when I was a fact-checker -- to hostile sources I just flat-out lied. Anything to make sure the job gets done.)
