The photo has a pretty good caption as well:

I fancy slow loris today

I heard that the loris has a lot of lectins.

I couldn't watch the video. The line "sharing it between them like lovers might a strand of spaghetti" was descriptive enough.

I didn't watch it either. After our weekend, I don't need to see any more animals eating other animals. Gah.

That's way too David Attenborough for me. Poor merganser!

From: [identity profile] xraytheenforcer.livejournal.com
to be true Attenborough, though, I'd have to risk life and limb to walk out on the very thin ice and taste of bit of that merganser myself, declare it delicious, and then shamble back to shore.

I look forward to the YouTube video. :p

I think I must make this my motto.

There's a few folk from work who'd agree I should make it mine as well. I should put that tale in LJ soon.

My little Ponies would not last long in our presence!

see, gingers are all, 'poor old us, everyone is sooo mean to us'. And now 'everyone' has been completely validated by this one headline. ;)

Chris said at the weekend that until I moved in with him nobody had been so mean to him about being ginger since he was at school.

Do you not think there may be a causal relation between being picked on throughout childhood and developing a mean-streak? I'm pretty sure my relatively quick-wit developed in large part for the need to pick out other people's "flaws" and verbally smack them down so they'd think twice about throwing unoriginal ginger insults at me.

The lab I just left was shocking in their use of casual gingerism. Asian people can't comprehend it and my Australian boss thinks it's a result of inbreeding. My lab threw a towel over me when it was sunny in september for fear I would burn!

If I was REALLY being mean about gingers I'd have taken the advice of my friend, who said 'yes, he may be completely awesome but could you actually go out with a ginger? I couldn't!'

God, I hope they were being ironic with that statement. Could you imagine the response that would get if they were talking about someones ethnicity/colour/disability?

She wasn't being ironic! This is the girl who after going home with a guy she met that night and discovering that his blond hair (on his head) was dyed and that he had ginger pubes, told him to hold on while she went to the bathroom and then got her stuff and left. It's her loss. And she's still (unhappily) single.

That is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. She deserves to be unhappy.

That's absolutely appalling. Maybe she has some weird phobia or is just incredibly small minded. Maybe she's a carrier and doesn't want to ever have ginger babies?

It's true: my parents have carried the stigma of whelping two ginger children. It weighs heavily on them, and I am sure they curse our existence for their misfortunes.

If I ever decided to inflict 50% of my DNA on the next generation I'd be tempted to find a genuine dark haired woman with the intention of creating "sleeper" agents that could potentially have ginger babies in the future. I'd have to dye/remove my hair (at this rate it'll be white or naturally gone) so that the children would be unaware they were carriers of course.

I love this idea. Ha!! Both my niece and nephew will be carriers. *evil grin*

It's when I have these kinds of ideas that I realise it's a good thing there are no children on the horizon as I'm not sure "practical" jokes are the best reason to have children :)

I know. Brooke (my writer who you met) was crushed and had to send this to me to share the horror. She loves the slow loris.

I so wanted for this to be just a bad dream. :(

I did have a nightmare last night actually, but it was about being possessed.
