Crazy, awesome, entertaining as hell helmetball match in San Francisco today. It has been a long, long time since the Niners have done anything really good, and I am so glad to see them (at least for now) back in form. Amazing scenes, with Vernon Davis running over to the sideline, weeping with joy while hugging the head coach, after he caught the game-winning touchdown. Having a celebratory bit of Lagavulin right now.

And Tebow was crushed by Satan's might!

As a Patriots fan, I approve that message. Tho I would have been ok with Tebow winning.

Text exchange between myself and another Pats fan friend.

Him: "who is this shitty team we're playing?"

Me: "don't know, can't tell with all of the fire."

That was also a delight, although I was so emotionally taxed from the SF-NO game that I couldn't properly enjoy the drubbing.

After a season-long text'n'youtube-based edjumacation in things NFL, this was the first game I got to watch properly (at the airport bar). WOW is all I can say. :o

I wish I could say that they're all that exciting, but sadly most are just a great excuse for an afternoon nap.

If we hadn't greased our gloves before going onto the field you niners never would have won.

(Seriously though, that was a damned good game to watch and a comeback in the end that very few expected for either side.)

Yeah, those turnovers killed NO.

AMAZING finish. I was so thrilled.

This adds to my theory that Helmetball lends itself to the most exciting ends-of-games. It's what I like most about the sport.

Yes. The last minute goal-line stands, the crazy hail mary passes, the ludicrous scoring strategies: should Smith have run for the TD or should he have run out of bounds and gone for a later TD or FG, eating time off the clock?
